North Island Distance Education School

How much does a Navigate education cost?

In education, as in life, the best things are free

Navigate (powered by NIDES) is fully funded and accredited by the BC Ministry of Education. As such, there are no fees to register in any of our regular K-9, high school or adult home learning programs.*

All of our home learning programs include full access to the extensive resources available for free at SD-71’s Glacierview Learning Resource Centre, which include science kits, audio-visual equipment, video recordings and more**. Plus, we offer a full schedule of rich, community-based programming like field trips, workshops and guest presenters available at no cost to supplement your home-based education.

What you’ll need:

  • A current home computer (computers can be borrowed from Navigate for a $100 deposit)
  • An Internet connection
  • A home facilitator (such as a parent or guardian) to supervise learning
  • Discipline, determination and a will to succeed

* Please note that a  modest fee may also apply to ENTER and Fine Arts Academy registrations.

** A small deposit may be required for some equipment.
