FAE Projects - By Michael Campsall

April 9, 2013

Since February, the intermediate art classes have been working with Kristi Martin from 4 Cats Art Studio to create paintings and sculptures. Ms Slater's class was working in groups to create paintings in the style of Gustav Klimt, complete with gold painted accents. Both of the grade 4-6 classes were working on individual paintings in the style of Emily Carr's painting entitled Odds and Ends. Throughout the 4 lessons, students were shown many examples of the respective artists and regaled with stories from their lives. Students were particularly enamored by stories about Emily Carr's pet monkey Wu. Kristi's rapport with students went along way to encourage students to create some amazing works of art. Art that will soon decorate the school.
