More and more Island families are experiencing the flexibility and personalization provided through distributed learning at Navigate! Navigate (Powered by NIDES) is offering a free Community Information event on December 19th from 12:00 – 2:00PM at the Haven, 240 Davis Road on Gabriola Island.
Anyone interested in learning more about distributed learning at Navigate and the option of iClass is welcome to attend. Distributed learning allows students K-12 to set their own learning goals and work toward them at their own pace with the support of qualified BC teachers. This learning can take place at home or anywhere with online access and can be either full time, part time, or for students in grades 10-12, while they’re attending another high school. The use of technology and additional programs such as iClass allow learners to enrich their learning experience through social interaction with peers on outings, workshops, and other shared learning projects.
The information session is presented by Navigate teachers in the Nanaimo area, who will be sharing information about the iClass program and the workshop and field trip opportunities available to families on Gabriola Island. Feedback from parents and students in the area as to what type of programming they require would be much appreciated. Members of the Gabriola Home Schoolers Association and Nanaimo parents are also welcome to attend.
Please help spread the word! If you have friends or families on Gabriola who might be interested in learning more about these education options, encourage them to attend the free information session on December 19th at The Haven.
