Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

October 31, 2012

The weather was drizzly and cold, but spirits were high as Navigate students met at Shamrock Farms Pumpkin Patch.

Shannon Farrell, owner of Shamrock Farms, explained the process of growing pumpkins and shared her extensive knowledge on pumpkin species. Following her informative lesson, students ventured out to the deliciously muddy field to pick a pumpkin.

Students were delighted to feed the chickens near the coop as they scurried about. Other students enjoyed going through the hay maze, followed by watching the ghoulish Halloween display in the barn as a skeleton eerily rocked its chair and a witch mixed her vile brew!
