North Island Distance Education School

Update from PAC

November 29, 2012
  1. School Planning Council (SPC) - Navigate is in need of 3 parents to participate on our SPC, which needs to include one parent from the PAC Executive. This is a great way to stay informed and to be an active participant in school planning. If you are interested in participating or have any questions about this important committee please contact Colleen Clark  by November 30th.

  2.  PAC Meeting - December 5th at 6:30 pm. Please log in to Elluminate on the D2L site to participate. You may want to log on a bit early to ensure that your headset and microphone are working correctly. A reminder that our PAC meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm. You can participate from the comfort of your own home!

  3. Information Sharing - We have been having some difficulties with the district server which has prevented some families from receiving emails. We will continue to send email notifications, as well as post information on the Navigate Facebook page, the D2L site and the school blog in an effort to reach all families. Information is also shared through the school newsletter (sent by email and posted on the navigate webpage). A print copy of all PAC information/updates will be posted on the PAC bulletin board in the main building. If you believe that you have not been receiving emails please contact the school.

  4. Community Outing - Save the Date: A community outing to Mt. Washington for a one day ski lesson for Navigate students has been planned for Friday February 22, 2013. Look for more details and a sign up package to be coming your way shortly.

  5.  Food Bank Donations - There is a donation box for food bank items located beside the school office (beside the PAC bulletin board) at the Tsolum campus. Please consider donating a non-perishable food item(s) for families in our community.

  6.  Coffee Chat - A reminder that coffee chats are still occurring at the Tsolum campus during student drop off times. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents and to stay informed.
