Local Robotics Teams Celebrate Strong Finish at World Vex Robotics Championships

Impressive is the best word to describe the results for local Robotics teams at the recent World Championships! Last weekend two high school robotics teams from the area travelled to Anaheim, California to compete in the Vex World Robotics Championships. 430 teams from 28 countries took part in the event. Navigate Student Receives Governor General Academic Medal

Hannah Sulz, a former student at Navigate received the Governor General’s Academic Medal last year.  She is pictured here with her mom, Kim Sulz, and her former instructor at Navigate, Mr. John Gair.

Navigate Student Competing at Provincial Championships in Cycling

Congratulations to Navigate student and cyclist Jessica! Jessica is an avid cyclist who competes competitively throughout the year. She competed at the Washington Mutual of Enumclaw Stage Race on May 18 – 19th and she swept the Time Trial, Criterium and Road Race stages enroute to a gold medal in the (overall) General Classification. Jessica will be competing at the BC Provincials Championships in a couple of weeks. We wish Jessica all the best at provincials! Way to go Jessica!!

Navigate Student Accepted Into Emily Carr Summer Institute

Congratulations to Russell Spotted Bull Jr., artist and Navigate student, on his acceptance to the Emily Carr Summer Institute for Teens, on full scholarship. Russell’s natural artistic abilities have been noted since he was very young, and he will be able to further develop this talent in the four weeks he will be spending at the Emily Carr campus on Granville Island. Navigate Student Selected for Canadian Western Hockey Team

Matthias Smith, a grade six student in the FAE program, has exciting plans for Spring Break!

In November 2011, Matthias was scouted at a tournament in Victoria where he was playing with the local Atom A rep. hockey team. One of the coaches for the Canadian Explorers team approached Matthias’s dad after watching him play and invited him to try out for the team.
