IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that in ALL of these situations, it is mandatory for students to contact their subject teacher in order to arrange for your tests or test passwords to be sent either to a testing site or a test supervisor.

If you book a test and are a no show or have not made proper arrangements with your NIDES teacher, you will be charged for the testing time by the test center.

Writing Tests

If you are a student enrolled in the Grade 8-12 Program at NIDES, it is likely you will be asked to write a test for your course.  It is important to note that each course has different expectations, so please contact your teacher when you are getting close to writing your first test to make sure you know what the expectations are.

For local students (Comox Valley and surrounding areas) there are a few locations that you can access to write a test.

Tsolum Campus 2505 Smith Road 250-337-5300
G.P Vanier Secondary 4830 Headquarters Road Amber.McLeod@sd71.bc.ca
Highland Secondary 750 Pritchard Road Derek.McCubbin@sd71.bc.ca
Mark R. Isfeld Secondary 1551 Lerwick Road Heather.Beckett@sd71.bc.ca / Christine.Watt@sd71.bc.ca

For students located in other areas of the Vancouver Island and Vancouver areas, there are two options available for you to write your tests:

  1. You can write at one of our approved testing centers as listed below
  2. You can find a teacher either in your current school or in the community who would be willing to supervise your tests.  Please have them complete a test supervisor form.  There are restrictions on who is eligible to supervise a test for a student so please read the test supervisor form carefully for details.
